What I think of Bhandarkar

The reason that in spite of my love for movies and writing, I don’t write many reviews on my blog is that there are so many better people and reviews out there which capture what I want to say in a much precise manner. One such review is of Jail by (in)famous rediff reviewer Raja Sen. Replace Jail with Fashion, Page 3 or any other movie (except, may be, Chandani Bar) and you’ve got what I think of Madhur and his path-breaking ‘real’ cinema.

Rama Chronicles

Ek-do-teen-chaar
Shri Ram ki jai jai-kaar
.
Jo hamare Ram ka nahin
Wo hamare kaam ka nahi
.
Tel laga ke Dabur ka
Naam mita do Babar ka
.
Chahe mar bhi jayenge
Mandir wahi banayenge
.
Ek dhakka aur do
Babri masjid tod do
.
Raam naam satya hai
Babri to dhwast hai
.
Ye to kewal jhaanki hai
Mathura, Kashi baaki hai
.
Ae ho
Ka ho
Ram lala ki
Jai Ho!

All's well that ends well

I like to imagine that -baring few with whom I chose to keep it like that- one can guess how (s)he is to me by simply answering how much that person knows about my ‘passport story’.

Under these circumstances,I am happy to declare that the story reached a satisfying (and happy) climax, a couple of weeks ago.

I was just lazy to post about it earlier.
